SHAWN SELVAGE'S PERSONAL STORY |
NAME: Shawn Selvage STORY: Born in Salt Lake City, Utah I was the first of four that my Mother and Father would have in this union. I also have four other older siblings from my parent's previous marriages. Raised Like so many others involved in this work, Sundays were spent attending an LDS ward house. I was Baptized received a patriarchal blessing and served an LDS mission in Harrisburg, PA. I enjoyed life vary much and this included spending time in scouting and all sorts of other church activities that still bring back fun memories. Pine wood derbies, camping trips, fund raisers the whole shebang. In short I might add that I do not regret my membership or harbor bad feelings for the LDS church or any of its members. I had many good examples and moments experienced that I hold dear to me. These experiences made me who I am today, the many examples of men and women I knew growing up help me see this world differently than I might have not knowing these great people. I owe much of who I am to the examples of so many wonderful people surrounding my life both family members and friends. I was first introduced to this Marvelous Work and a Wonder bye my Mother and her then boyfriend Jay Benson. I remember my Mom calling me and telling me about the 116 pages that Joseph Smith had lost and of The Sealed Portion The Final Testament of Jesus Christ being translated. They were excited to say the least. Jay even mentioned meeting the man claiming to have translated the book as Christopher Nemelka. After reading the 116 pages I just couldn't wait to read the TSP. I finally received a copy and began reading it immediately; I remember thinking to myself so many times as I read TSP for the first time that it seemed so familiar to me as if having seen these words before. I knew of its validity almost right away and I just needed to meet this Christopher. TSP answered so many questions and brought to light so many truths I had never thought of before. TSP was just the beginning or the tip of the iceberg so to speak! Since first discovering TSP so much has changed and life is different in so many ways. It's like a different life altogether a life of better understanding for Human Beings, and a greater knowledge of what is taking place on this earth today. The books of this Marvelous Work And a Wonder explain the Truth so simply and in such a way that all can come to know the Truth just by reading. After reading the books of this work I now have a greater understanding of myself and what makes me who I am today. This understanding makes every single thing that ever has or will occur to me different in the way I handle or think about each situation. The books do just as they claim “They have set me free” but all must read them for themselves or they will never know what it is that they have need of being set free of. I now know what the things were that bound me like chains of ignorance just by simply reading the books of this Work. And this challenge I give to any who may read this story that if you will but just take the time to read these books You too will know that you have been set free. And the truths found in these books will forever free you of the chains of men. No man can take away this knowledge, but no man can give it to you either you must make the choice to discover a whole new world yourself and read these books. Shawn. |
